Rumah Tanam is a brand that stands for growing and blooming together starting from small things. ‘Rumah’ means a place that generates comfort, warmth, and happiness created by the people inside their home, “Because a place doesn’t make home. But, people do”. ‘Tanam’ means a plant that grows in the right environment. Thus, Rumah Tanam is a platform for those who seek happiness to start growing plants that will bring harmony, joy, and an online community that welcomes you as part of our home. Today we will be presenting our business to you all!

Rumah Tanam's vision is to give more exposure and a bigger reach for local plant suppliers and potters. Our mission is to enhance local brands to their best, becoming a platform to make it easier for buyers and act as a helping hand for the community as we also provide tips on how to care for plants.

Here are the demographic and psychographic of our target market. Our target market are plant interests of all ages. It is not limited to any gender but will be targeted mostly towards moms. The business targets consumers with an income of around Rp5,000,000 and above, those who can fulfill the needs of their hobbies.
The target audience for our brand are those who enjoy simplicity and care for the little things in life. Audiences who are passionate and persistent as growing plants takes time and requires an investment of effort.

The idea of making Rumah Tanam was from the problems people often encounter when pursuing the hobby of planting. Amidst the pandemic situation, a lot of people begin to purchase and take care of plants in their own homes. From young adults to parents, they love to explore deeper into the world of plants and some are also interested in planting plants as a hobby. The problem is that there is no available platform that promotes plant hobby essentials with complete plant products and the instructions to care for the plant. People would need to browse through multiple platforms and marketplace, and search the “how to care instructions” on Google.

The solution our brand is offering will be an e-commerce website that eases people to buy plants, flowers, and gardening tools. The site will also provide instructions on how to care for the plants. Rumah Tanam will be partnering with local plant suppliers and potters, as a result, they can gain more exposure and have a bigger reach. Rumah Tanam also features a community for plant interests to engage with each other called ‘Teman Tanam’.

These are the features we have on our e-commerce site. The website features consists of journal, community, about, shop, contact us, plant assistant, tips, sign in, events and services.
On the plant posts there will be the price of the plant, its type, description, care instructions, recommended products, review, tips, checkout, assurance, payment method, vouchers, and shipping.

This is the logo for Rumah Tanam, the house-shaped-like a leaf’s body stands for “Rumah” which means home and “Tanam” which means plant.
The 4 leaf veins represents us (the rumah tanam team), our customers (teman tanam), local suppliers, and our investors.

Here is Rumah Tanam’s cost projection. The team has calculated that in the span of 5 years we need around 1.5 billion rupiah which means a total cost of 125 million each year. This will be allocated to 4 areas which are:
- 55% for the creatives such as content writers, plant assistant (customer service), editors, photographers and web designers
- 18% for Rumah Tanam’s programmers
- 19% for operational this includes Rumah Tanam’s packaging, shipping transportations, warehouse and logistics.
- 8% will go to marketing.

To close the spending on our costs, in 5 years we are expecting to earn a revenue of 1point 250 billion, which comes from the commissions we take from selling pots and plants, the loyalty subscription from our customers, partnerships, holding events and in site commercials or advertisements.

After calculating Rumah Tanam’s revenue and expenses, we concluded that in each year Rumah Tanam is predicted to have a deficit of -134.145 million , excluding the possibility of appreciation and depreciation.

If you are planning to invest longer than 5 years, these are our plans and milestones set for the next few years. The team plans to create more contents about plants both on our website and instagram. Producing youtube videos such as plant care tutorial, teman tanam story and more to reach teman tanam out there, and hold events and collaborations with brands out there. With these plans our goal is to reach a community of 10,000 teman tanam, an 8000 subscription to Rumah Tanam, an increase in sales and also exposure to a larger market. The team has calculated that we need a budget of around 119.1 million for our business projection.

So, how much money are we seeking from investors? We are seeking 300 billion in financing. The team has predicted and calculated that this financing will last approximately for 5 years.
