Rumah Tanam Ideation



At first I chose the topic that revolves around plants as I picked up this new hobby during the pandemic. I also noticed that other people around me started planting too. The first market research I did was asking my mom, a plant hobbyist, about what are the problems she encountered. Next when I had a walk in the morning, I asked the moms in my neighborhood about the problems they faced when trying to fulfill the hobby needs. I also did an observation of my own by going around the cluster and observing the pots and plants they owned. All of the problems they said are listed on the list below.


  • Hard to find pots – Ms Christine

  • Don't know suitable planting media - mom and neighbor's mother

  • Sometimes it dies for no reason - mom

  • Good pots for big plants are hard to find, usually good ones for small ones like succulents - the neighbor's mother

  • Usually use a white pot tawon or from a used gallon bottle - my observation

  • Hard to find terracotta pot - Dyah Ayu Arimbi from Twitter

 

Ideas:

- Make custom pots that can be accessed in a website, we give them choices of custom made pots like the ones in "pick your clothes" game.

- Pot painting kit

 

The ideas shown above is my first ideation process that I made in Milanote. During the first week in starting the creative business, I showed this to Ms. Christine for the QC. After the QC she suggested Stephanie and I to work together on this project as there is a connection between our ideas. Thereafter, we discussed together and decided to continue working on this project as a team.
