Their client include Museum MACAN, EuroCham, Dermalogica, Bukalapak, and Smoon, among others. Mr Alex showed some designs that has been done by CONTEMPT Studio. He also shared on how the design process is done in CONTEMPT. The first step is to always do research. After gathering data from the research, discuss, read and observe within the design team. A good start can be by selecting a good typeface. Lastly build a good relationship with clients if it is possible.

QC

After the lecture session, we also had the chance to do a one-on-one QC with Mr Alex.

Notes from QC with guest lecture:

  • Can use foil (like hologram) as a material for the business card

  • Make the size smaller

  • Business card - black background, white text

  • Letterhead is too big

  • Sufficient element

  • Envelope - put details such as email and phone number

  • For folder, translucent tracing paper can be an idea

  • Try to draw the element on an actual ruler to see the size

  • Try to change the color of stamp, maybe orang

  • Try to use one color only

  • No need to use graphics
